Deadline 1st October 2017
We welcome abstracts from current postgraduate students that make an original contribution to philosophical topics and debates broadly in the analytic tradition.
Appropriate topics include, but are not limited to:
Metaphysics
Social & Political Philosophy
Epistemology
Mind & Language
Meta/Applied/Normative Ethics
Philosophy of Religion
Aesthetics
Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words (excluding reference list) and suitable for a presentation of no longer than 20 minutes to a generalist philosophical audience. Papers will be selected by double-blind review. All sessions will include prepared comments from a philosopher at the University of Nottingham or University of Birmingham. As such, accepted speakers will need to send a full version of their paper by 1st December 2017, so that it can be passed on to a commentator.
Please submit titled abstracts, prepared for blind review and with the subject heading ‘PIP 2018 Abstract Submission’ to [email protected]
In the accompanying email please list the title of the paper, name(s) of author(s), and author(s) affiliation. We especially welcome submissions from underrepresented groups in philosophy – feel free to indicate in your email if you are a member of such a group.
The submission deadline is 1st October 2017. We aim to give decisions by the 10th October. The deadline for full papers is 1st December 2017.
PIP is supported by the AHRC, Midlands3Cities, and organized in conjunction with the department of Philosophy at the University of Birmingham.
